About the wokky

I am approaching middle age at a rapidly expanding waistline speed; served 23 years in the Australian Army and now work in the counter terrorism field. I enjoy watching my sons play Rugby and Soccer (even though I am from an Aussie Rules and Hockey background). I used to enjoy an occasional surf (9’6″ Malibu), but due to a P plater using my leg as target practice whilst on my way home from work aboard my trusty scooter, I can no longer bend my foot far enough to ‘get up’ any more. Five surgeries including an ankle fusion as a result of this accident have changed my life in so many ways. This has contributed to the aforementioned waistline and the time used to play with this blog.

On the origins of Wokky: When I was a toddler I had a security blanket which I apparently called my “wokky”. I would not go anywhere or do anything without it to such an extent that my mother had to cut up the sheet that the original came from and have several on hand just in case. Since then I have had a dog called wokky and have grown to use the name for email etc. I guess it is still somewhat of a security blanket as I am using it for this blog.
